History

Since being chartered by the United Association in 1916, the journeymen and apprentice members of Sprinkler Fitters Local Union No. 536 and its Signatory Contractors have been committed to providing the highest quality service and craftsmanship to our customers throughout the state of Maryland. 

The skill and ability of our labor force are unmatched. Our sprinkler fitters enjoy a reputation throughout the mid-Atlantic region of being both skilled and productive.  This reputation has been earned by performing high quality work on time within budget.

Our sprinkler fitters are trained to handle all of your fire protection needs.  Whether working new construction or retrofitting an existing structure our members are trained to properly install all commercial, industrial, and residential systems.  The knowledge and professionalism of our members have enabled our contractors to become leaders in the service and maintenance, testing, and inspection fields of the fire protection industry.

Local 536 sprinkler fitters have installed the fire sprinkler systems on the largest construction projects within the state of Maryland such as Arundel Mills Mall, Legg Mason Building, and the Towson Town Center.  Regardless of the size of the job or scope of work our members take pride in every job we do.  Not to mention the fact that we do the job right the first time saving both time and money.

The pride our members exhibit in their work extends to the company or contractor for whom we work.  This commitment has enabled our local and signatory contractors to continuously increase our market share during the last ten years.  Customers and contractors know that they can turn to us and rest assured the project will be properly manned and completed on time.

Through our journeymen training programs, our sprinkler fitters have the opportunity to upgrade their skills and knowledge of the trade by staying up to date with the latest technology and installation codes.  Our knowledge of the trade allows us to offer the highest possible productivity and cost-effective solutions to any job site problem.
